Access

We're building this site to WCAG 2.1 AA, a target we're working toward, not a badge we're claiming to have already earned.

01

Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to browse, read and buy from Maison Monzzaro, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. The standard we're working toward is WCAG 2.1 level AA, the widely recognised benchmark for web accessibility.

02

What's actually built

Keyboard and structure

Every menu, link and interactive control on this site can be reached and used with a keyboard alone. Where the site uses an accordion (the FAQ, for instance) it's built on the browser's native `<details>`/`<summary>` element rather than a custom script, so it opens, closes and reads correctly with nothing but a keyboard and a screen reader.

Light and dark, both measured

The site ships in a light theme and a dark theme. We ran a contrast audit across both, measuring the actual colour pairs used on every page against the WCAG AA thresholds, and corrected every pairing that fell short.

Text that scales

Text sizes are set in `rem`, scaled against a fluid root size, not fixed pixels. Zoom your browser in, or raise your default font size in your settings, and the layout follows rather than breaking.

The rest

Product and campaign imagery carries alt text describing what's shown. Every interactive element shows a visible focus outline when reached by keyboard, so you can always see where you are. Where the site uses motion, it respects your operating system's reduced-motion setting.

03

Known gaps

Some pages carry decorative canvas animation (moving light, glass, metal effects) behind or around the content. These carry no text alternative, because they convey no information: remove them and nothing is lost from the page's meaning.

Payment checkout and the tracking pixels that run on this site (see Cookie Policy) are built and hosted by third parties. We've chosen the standards-compliant ones we could find, but we don't control their code, and can't promise their accessibility the way we can promise our own.

04

Report a problem

If anything here is hard to use with your setup, tell us. It will get fixed. Write to care@monzzaro.com with the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser, device or assistive technology you were using. We'll acknowledge and respond within 30 hours.

If it isn't resolved to your satisfaction, escalate to our Grievance Officer, Mohammed Rizwan, at admin@monzzaro.com.

05

Assistive technology we expect

We build and test against the major screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack) and standard keyboard navigation on current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. That's an expectation we hold ourselves to, not a certification anyone has issued us.

The house writes rarely. Be first to hear when it does.

A new perfume entering the house. An Act opening. A Library piece worth ten minutes of your evening. What we are composing now, and why. We write only when there is something worth reading, never to fill a calendar, and we never sell your address.
